Description

Global Elements offers a range of products derived from Europa Technologies' best-selling product, Global Insight Plus. Created in response to frequent enquires from customers requiring continental place gazetteers and specialist map layers, Global Elements delivers the quality and consistency of Global Insight products in component form.

Global Elements gazetteers cover their respective areas at 1:1,000,000. scale. Like Global Insight, place names are spelt in the local form with a supplement layer providing alternative spellings (English conventional name, second national language, foreign name and long/short form). All place names use accented characters where required using a standard ANSI character set (e.g. Arial, Times Roman, etc.).

Global Elements gazetteers are an excellent choice for users performing continental geocoding by place name. The alternative names layer allows an advanced geocoder to pick up many places with a conventional English name or spelt using a national second language. Whether your data contains Geneva / Genčve, Helsinki / Helsingfors or Köln / Cologne, Global Elements gazetteers will match the name to provide superior geocoding hit rates.

The extensive place name gazetteer allows rapid location of almost any city, town or village in each continental area. Place data records include country name and 1st level administrative region (where available) which assists when identifying an ambiguous name.

Time Zones

Offers complete mapping at 1:1,000,000 scale of the worlds time zones in the context of an up-to-date political map. Includes offsets from Universal Time (UTC) and letter designation. Also includes Daylight Saving Time (DST) Information for 2002 - 2009 allowing exact time differences to be calculated. Supplement layers include the International Date Line and a number of useful grids and bands.

Airports

Comprehensive database of over 34,500 airports world-wide including name, classification, IATA code, country, elevation and latitude/longitude. Now includes a field indicating if schedule international and national flights operate out of each airport.

Global Elements products may be deployed in an Internet / Intranet web environment or used in a central server based capacity for an annual fee of three times single user list price. If the use of the product includes service resale (ASP models, etc.), the annual fee is five times the single user list price. Prices are for a single application and include updates for one year. For Intranet or server based applications where the number of users is limited, the multi-user licence pricing above (one payment, perpetual licence) can be used.
